Rob decided to make this dream a reality after years of skippering superyachts around the world and founded the NZ Rum Co in 2020.

Meet Ian from Lumberjack Brewing

Owner and head brewer Ian had been brewing for years with his mate Brett, and they took things to the next level in 2019 when they scaled up their brew kit and opened a taproom in Pukehina.
Passionate about good beer, Ian also owns the online Beer Necessities to supply others in their own home brewing.

Antony Michalik from Divergence Whisky

Meet Antony from Divergence Whisky

Antony spent most of his career in the dairy industry. During a stint in the US, he saw the rise of craft beer with craft distilling following closely behind.
He convinced some colleagues to invest in a small still and started off with the ambition to make the world's best single malt whisky in one of their garages - and the Spirits Workshop was born!
The Spirits Workshop produces distinctly Kiwi spirits, including Divergence Whisky and Curiosity Gin.

Meet John Askerne Estate Winery

John's father, the late Dr. John Loughlin, established two wineries in Hawke's Bay which are known as Chateau Waimarama and Zepelin.
This inspired a love of wine in John and with wife Kathryn is the co-founder of Askerne Winery, working over the years to fund its development.
He is the former Chief Executive of Richmond Ltd and currently a professional Company Director, serving on the Boards of a number of public and private companies.

Meet Paul from Leveret Mills Reef

Paul initially began working on a BA before realising his true calling lay in wine. In hindsight, for one who grew up around vineyards in the Hawkes Bay, it seemed like a no-brainer!
Today Paul has been with Leveret Mills Reef for over 25 years, over half of which as the head winemaker.
On his days off (apart from spending time with the family) he relaxes by reading, cycling and walking his dog.
